about
my studio
With each and every one of my students, my aim is to help you grow in your appreciation for music, realize the full potential of your unique God-given voice, gain confidence singing that tune you’ve always loved, and start achieving your musical goals!

From beginning singers to advanced singers, ages 8 through adulthood, you will learn building and maintaining proper vocal technique, performance and artistry, note-reading, sight-singing, and ear-training.
Lessons are one-on-one, private sessions taught out of my home in downtown Columbia, tailored to the strengths and needs of your voice. Now is a great time to give voice lessons a try!

a little
about me
I hold a degree in Vocal Performance from The Master’s University and have a combined 9 years of experience teaching private lessons in Southern California and Tennessee. I love performing and teaching musical theater, classical, Christian/sacred, and jazz music.
I've had the opportunity to sing nationwide and worldwide, as a soloist and with various groups, in live performances and in studio recordings. Some of my most memorable moments in music include singing Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus in Hebrew in Israel and recording at the famous Capitol Records building in Hollywood with my college choir, being part of Josh Groban’s live studio choir for a PBS Special, singing in Christmas caroling quartets with a Dickens caroling company, and performing in favorite musical theater shows like “Oklahoma!”, “Ragtime”, “Little Women”, and “A Christmas Carol”.
My husband and I moved to Columbia in 2022 and have since had two beautiful daughters here. We love calling Columbia home, and have been so tremendously blessed by the welcoming people here in Middle Tennessee.

I'm completely new to singing. Can I still take lessons?Yes! I teach beginners to advanced singers, newbies to longtimers. I'm happy to come alongside you at whatever stage you're at on your musical journey. Contact me and tell me a little more about yourself to see if I'd be a good fit for you as a vocal teacher.
-
Do I need to practice outside of lessons?Yes, practice makes permanent! If you love singing, you're likely already practicing daily. But my baseline expectation is that students practice 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week, with the vocal exercises that I've tailored to your voice and range. Record your weekly lesson on your phone and you'll always know what to practice!
-
Do you offer in-home lessons? No, I currently do not travel to students' homes for lessons. All lessons are conducted at my own home in downtown Columbia. If coming for in-person lessons is not an option for you, ask me about online virtual lessons.
-
Do you offer lessons for piano or guitar? While many of my students are instrumentalists as well as singers, I currently offer lessons just for voice.
-
In-person lessons won't work for me. Do you offer virtual lessons?Yes, online virtual lessons are available for those who are unable to make in-person lessons work. Virtual lessons are conducted via Zoom. Contact me for more information.
-
How old does my child need to be to take lessons? As a general policy, I offer lessons to children at least 8 years of age. However, every child is different, and some may be ready for one-on-one lessons before age 8. Please contact me with more information about you and your child to determine if an age exception would be appropriate.
-
Can I sit in on my child's lesson?Yes, absolutely. I fully respect whatever you as the parent feel is best for your child. You'll likely have the best knowledge of whether your presence during the lesson will be a positive for your child's musical growth and progress. Some students are shy and hold back with parents nearby, some are more comfortable with them there. Ultimately, it's your decision.
-
Am I required to attend my child's lesson? No. While you are welcome to accompany your child, it is not required that you sit in on their lesson. Many parents choose to wait in the car, run a quick errand, etc.
-
What forms of payment do you accept?I accept cash, check, Venmo, and Zelle payments.
-
If I can't make my lesson, do you offer refunds? As a general policy, no. However, a refund might be available in certain unusual circumstances. For a detailed breakdown of refunds, rescheduling, and more, please see my complete Studio Policy.
-
Do you offer gift certificates?Yes, voice lessons make a great gift! Contact me to purchase a gift certificate.
